Your responsibility

Golding is currently navigating through a transformative phase, with a vision to evolve into a data-driven enterprise. As a Data Engineer, you play a pivotal role in shaping this digital transformation and leveraging data as a valuable corporate asset. Your responsibility spans the creation of a novel data and analytics platform, contributing significantly to the execution of our data and analytics strategy. Your expertise is instrumental in paving the way towards a data-centric organizational landscape.



This includes:
 
  • Driving forward the creation of a new company-wide data & analytics platform based on a lakehouse
  • Requirements engineering, analysis and documentation of technical and non-technical business needs
  • Building the bridge to the Data Owners and Data Stewards with the data & analytics team
  • Maintaining and enhancing the conceptual data model
  • Maturation and continuous improvement of the data catalogue
  • Development and evolution of data outputs such as dashboards and reports
  • Conception, development and management of data flows
  • Contact person and supporting the power users for the self-service-bi-approach

Your qualification

  • A STEM degree or a comparable qualification in a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a professional IT environment
  • Extensive experience in Data Governance initiatives
  • Expertise in building high-performance data management processes
  • Proficiency in relational databases and multidimensional query languages like SQL, MDX, DAX
  • Understanding of data modeling principles
  • Practical experience with tools such as Databricks, DBT, Dremio, Airflow, PowerBI or similar platforms
  • Proven track record in (sub-)project management in relevant topics
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies like Microsoft Azure or similar environments would be advantageous
